Police Probationer Training in England and Wales requires students to attend and complete a basic Training Course known as IPLDP ( Initial Police Learning and Development Programme.) This last for two years.

This Programme is both theoretical and practical based, and a good proportion of the training takes place within the classroom.

Your employers will provide you with a large amount of study notes, and you will be required to read and learn these in your own time.

However, many studies have proven that learning by reading can be  ineffective and that most people prefer to learn by having the material explained to them.
